_____This image represents when things really started to click for me in terms of design layout, and is probably my earlierst successful lecture poster. I'd made plenty before this one, and they all got the job done - but I felt that this one was the first to accomplish the goal I was after - that is, to be a good design while still being all about the artists and their work. Granted, there is a great deal about this poster I would change now, but this was the very beginning for me. I did manage to see this lecture, and even shared dinner with the pair after four of us crammed into a two-seat mini-truck cab. Chris and Hendrika are great people, very fun to hang out with, and their artwork amazes me. They carve realistic objects to scale out of high-density polystyrene foam. That bicycle - cables, chain, and all - is hand carved out of foam. They even made a full-size zamboni out of that stuff! Mouse-over for more detail. |
