_____Alternatively titled "Behind the Beauty," this was an experiment with a different sort of photomanipulation than I'd tried thus far, and quickly became one of my favorites. I used a series of brushes I'd made in Photoshop to compose objects in the image. What those objects are is up to you - though I'll say they are distinct in my own mind as ominous, invading, dark creatures from Another Place - an expression of foreboding billowing-up from underneath a bright and beautiful sky. The simultaneous presence of terror and hope always has, and always shall fascinate and inspire me. Beauty and Corruption are both quite real. I took this photo just after one of the most striking natural phenomena I'd ever seen - a black sky underlit by a bright sun - brilliantly illuminating each and every raindrop so that a shimmering field of gold fell awe-inspiringly towards the ground. I rushed to get my camera, and while I missed the rain, I was granted many beautiful and stunning photographs of this cloudscape.
