_____Another image that is many things to me, and another self-portrait. This time, I took a departure from my previously grotesque self-depictions, and focused instead on my relationship to Nature and Spirit. While "enlightenment" is a pervasive theme and an expressed goal in this image, its title is an open admission that I've obtained only hints at best. The image is tainted by Vanity, and no Vane being can be described as Enlightened. Along with a deep spiritual relationship to Nature, and the admission of Vanity, this image also speaks about something else very important to me: Androgyny. Make no mistake - I plainly believe that Male is Male and Female is Female, but I also believe that the hyper-polarization of their cultural images has thrown them both very far off-base from what they really are, and that each stands to find itself in the other.
