_____I had just started college: I was in a new place, and had a purpose. I decided to make a new piece using techniques I'd learned over the years in my free time. A piece better, and from a better place than my previous work. This piece would be about curiosity, wonder and beauty rather than an expression of worldly frustration as much of my previous work had been. To date, I count it as the prettiest work I've assembled. I say "assemble" because this is essentially a collage - I did not render the parts of this image that are truly beautiful - I merely placed them together, composed them at best. Of note - there is a figure in the center of this image in the fetal position, contained in the central orb. Take whatever meaning you wish from this image, metaphorical or otherwise. I never considered it totally finished, and would take a different approach now, but I count it as a great learning experience, and as one of my most determined and focused exercises of my own volition from college.
