_____Another in the series from Baldwin Lee's 12-inch mirror assignment, which lent me many photos that I am happy with. This is an example of a photo that I'd consider 95% "there" - but with that one thing I wish I'd done differently. I could photoshop it out, of course - and no one would know - but I leave it as-is to serve as a lesson for me, and perhaps anyone else that is learning and stumbles upon my records. I chose this particular 12-inch mirror because of a blemish in its reflective surface, which I found interesting. Had I a macro lens, I could have focused on this small detail and made some interesting photos with it. However, most of my compositions were from farther away, and were built around the four lines of the mirror itself. That being the case, this blemish on the edge of the mirror ended up working against me in almost every successful photo. They work well and I'm happy with them - but they ultimately serve as lessons rather than any of my top pieces. |
